After graduating from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore in 2016, Prafull faced challenges while preparing for competitive exams like the Common Admission Test (CAT) and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), ultimately failing to clear them. Seeking financial independence, he took a job at McDonald’s, where he began as a housekeeper and quickly advanced to the position of cashier. Despite the stability of employment, Prafull’s heart was set on entrepreneurship. During his preparation for the CAT exams, he found solace in tea, which inspired him to launch his own tea stall. Borrowing Rs. 8,000 from his father under the pretense of enrolling in a short-term course, he established his first stall in Ahmedabad in 2017.
The journey was not without its hurdles. On the inaugural day of his tea stall, the absence of customers tested his resolve. However, Prafull remained undeterred and pivoted his strategy by engaging customers in English, which captivated their interest and led to a growing clientele. As his business began to flourish, Prafull grappled with the expectations of pursuing an MBA versus his passion for tea. Ultimately, he chose the latter and dedicated himself to perfecting his chai blends, which soon garnered him recognition as the founder of MBA Chai Wala, also affectionately known as Mr. Billore Ahmedabad Chai Wala.
In a significant move to support aspiring entrepreneurs, Prafull launched the ‘MBA Chai Wala Academy’ on October 18, 2021.
