In 2010, Peyush, alongside Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi, founded Lenskart, an online platform initially dedicated to selling contact lenses. Within a short span of a year, the company expanded its offerings to include eyeglasses and sunglasses, marking a significant turning point in its business trajectory. Lenskart has since funded a number of eyewear startups, including John Jacobs in 2015, Aqualens in 2019, Lenskart Plus in 2020, and the Lenskart Vision Fund the same year. Under Peyush’s leadership, Lenskart achieved remarkable success, becoming a unicorn in 2019 with a valuation of $1.5 billion, an impressive feat for a privately held startup.
As of 2022, Lenskart has grown exponentially, boasting approximately 600 retail stores and employing around 4,000 individuals across 450 cities in India.
