INTERESTING BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Kartik Aaryan’s journey began in the bustling city of Gwalior, where he was born into a middle-class family. From a young age, during his 10th standard, Kartik harbored dreams of becoming an actor. After completing his 11th grade, he made the bold decision to relocate to Delhi under the guise of pursuing his studies, all the while seeking opportunities in the competitive world of acting. His determination paid off when he caught the attention of director Luv Ranjan through a Facebook profile, ultimately landing his breakthrough role in the 2011 film “Pyaar Ka Punchnama.”
As he stepped into the cinematic world, Kartik made a significant sacrifice, choosing to leave his engineering degree midway through his third year after securing a role in his debut film. Despite this, he completed his final exams, demonstrating his commitment to both education and his passion for acting. During the filming of “Pyaar Ka Punchnama,” he embraced a humble lifestyle, sharing a rented 2BHK flat with 12 roommates in Lokhandwala, Mumbai. It was here that he delivered a remarkable 5.29-minute monologue, a hallmark of his performance, which would later be eclipsed by an even more impressive 7.80-minute monologue in the sequel, “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2,” released in 2015.
A multifaceted talent, Kartik Aaryan quickly expanded his horizons beyond acting, successfully establishing himself as a model and participating in various modeling assignments. His dedication to his craft was evident even in his dietary choices; despite being a vegetarian, he consumed 25 eggs daily to gain weight for his role in “Akaash Vani” (2013). As he continued to evolve as an actor, he decided to change his on-screen name to Kartik Aaryan before the release of “Kaanchi: The Unbreakable” (2014), marking a new chapter in his career. An ardent admirer of Shah Rukh Khan, Kartik has often expressed how the Bollywood icon inspires his acting journey.
Kartik’s ascent in the film industry reached new heights with the success of “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety,” which became one of the highest-grossing films of 2018. In a moment of nostalgia, he shared on Instagram a photo that he credited with getting him an audition for his debut film. His rise was further solidified in 2019 when he made his first appearance in Dabboo Ratnani’s prestigious calendar photoshoot, showcasing his appeal as a rising star. Off-screen, Kartik’s love for animals, particularly dogs, shines through in his affection for his pet dog, Katori.
Despite his fame, Kartik remains grounded, allowing his mother to manage his finances and ensure he stays humble. He recounted a humorous incident where she informed him of insufficient funds in his account when he wanted to buy a car, igniting reactions across social media about the responsibilities of young men in India. Kartik has a passion for sci-fi films and dreams of acting in one, further highlighting his diverse interests. Preparing for his role in the upcoming biographical sports drama “Chandu Champion” (2024), he has adhered to a disciplined workout regimen, incorporating boxing, swimming, and a strictly plant-based diet devoid of steroids. Kartik Aaryan’s story is one of ambition, talent, and a commitment to growth, as he continues to carve out a remarkable place for himself in the Indian film industry.
