Born and raised in Bhubaneswar, Shaktikanta Das began his educational journey at the Demonstration Multipurpose School before moving to Delhi to further his studies. His academic pursuits were rooted in History, earning him both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the subject, which laid a solid foundation for his analytical and critical thinking skills. Upon completing his postgraduate studies at the prestigious St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, he set his sights on the Civil Service Examination. His hard work paid off in 1980 when he successfully passed the examination and was allotted the Tamil Nadu Cadre in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
