One fateful day, during a practice session, Jai Prakash Nautiyal, the High-Performance director of the Indian para-shooting team, recognized Manish’s precision and potential. His consistent performances soon began to pay off as he started winning medals at national competitions, marking the beginning of a successful trajectory in his shooting career. By November 2017, he made headlines when he was selected for the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Bangkok, where he secured a gold medal in the P1 – 10 m Air Pistol Men SH1 event, contributing to India’s medal tally in a significant way.

Manish continued to excel on the international stage, clinching a silver medal at the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Al Ain in March 2018. His impressive scores solidified his status as a formidable competitor. Later that year, he made a historic mark at the Asian Para Games held in Jakarta, where he not only won gold in the Men’s Para Shooting 10M Air Pistol but also broke a junior world record. This victory earned him a coveted spot for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, further fueling his ambition.
