Embracing this new passion, he adopted the gaming moniker ‘8bit Thug,’ inspired by a catchy song from the film The Dictator, setting the stage for his burgeoning gaming career.
After attaining commendable academic results, Animesh decided to take a leap of faith—a year-long break from his studies to fully immerse himself in gaming, a decision that received the endorsement of his supportive parents. This pivotal choice led him to embark on his professional esports journey in 2018, marking the beginning of his career as a PUBG Mobile player. Animesh quickly made a name for himself, representing India at the Asia finals of the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge (PMSC) 2018 held in Thailand. This event was significant as it was one of the first official PUBG Mobile tournaments, and Animesh was part of the first Indian roster to compete, a milestone that underscored his dedication and talent within the esports realm.
